*****PUPPY LOVE *****
Brussels Griffon/ Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/ Havanese/ Shiba Inu
SHIBA-INU: A loving, healthy, wonderful companion with proper diligence and training. Descendant from Japan bred to hunt small wild game. "Shiba" means "brushwood", after its hunting terrain or the color of the brushwood leaves when they turn red in the fall. "Inu" means dog in Japanese. A medium sized dog with Females: 13.5 - 15.5" and Males: 14.5 to 16.5" at the withers. Weights vary but should not be over 25 pounds. Medium boned, compact, well-muscled and very agile. Very active as a puppy but tend to mellow out with age... Minimum care. Fenced yards and locked gates to prevent a child that sees the dog from opening the gate to pet as dogs will bolt and off they go. No need for a special diet, just good high quality kibble; but things such as ground turkey, veggies (not corn), eggs, fish oil supplements, etc. --but not necessary. The need for puppy socialization and obedience classes is a must. They will become the "alpha dog" as they are strong-willed and possessive of their things. They need to learn their manners and how to behave. Puppies tend to use their mouths to "taste" their human, but need to learn not to be rough. Once trained, they are loyal, loving and true to their owner.
Your puppy will come with a limited registration but a full registration is available.
Most new puppy owners desire a limited registration for their new pet. A limited registration allows you to register your new puppy with the same registry that his/her parents are registered with and you still have the ability to do agility and obedience within the show ring as well as becoming a therapy dog. But, we ask that your new puppy be spayed or neutered. (See more details of Spay/Neuter information on another page of this website) In the unlikely event that your puppy does produce offspring, their offspring will be ineligible for registration unless a correction form is requested from us and filed with the registry. Of course additional payments are required at that time.
A full registration is desired by those that may want to show and/or breed their puppy. An additional fee of $250 - $500 is available, but please inquire before making your purchase. A full registration allows you complete control if you desire to breed your dog and you may show in conformation events along with the agility and obedience.

HERE'S A STORY BACK ON ONE OF MY BEAUTIFUL SHIBA GIRLS:

Hi Judy and April,
With the summer giving me a break from teaching, Nora and I have gotten to do so many fun things together! She graduated from Hilltop's Canine College about a month ago (I attached a picture of her diploma), and we went on a four-week vacation to San Francisco to see my family! Nora came on the plane as my carry-on in a little carrier that fit under the seat in front of me. She was the best traveling companion! She didn't make a sound on the planes and was accident-free both going there and coming back. The flight attendants were pretty impressed! I loved taking her on walks by the beach and I attached another picture of her by the ocean.
She has been such a joy and I am so happy to have her in my life. I get stopped by people telling me how cute she is and wanting to know more about her every time we go on a walk. I am one proud Shiba owner thanks to you both! I know your husband had a soft-spot for her so please let him know that she is happy and getting lots of love :) The last picture I attached is of my 88-year old grandma in San Francisco. She has never been a huge pet person, but even she finally succumbed to Nora's puppy kisses!
Again, I can't thank you enough!
